Daiwa announces senior hire

Daiwa Capital Markets has hired Christopher Owen as head of secured financing for its Global Equity Finance franchise. In this senior role in the firm鈥檚 global derivatives business he reports to Charlie Day, London-based regional head of derivatives (Europe & the Middle East) and head of global equity finance. Owen joins from Nomura where he was executive director, financing products management.

In addition to his career at Nomura, where he also served as chief operating officer of Prime Services, Mr Owen held senior roles at HSBC where he was head of collateral trading (Equity Finance/Balance Sheet Management). He has also worked at JP Morgan and ABN Amro.
