Increase in average daily cleared contract for OCC

OCC’s securities lending central counterparty activity was down 16 percent in new loans for August 2014 compared to August 2013, with only 93,950 transactions last month.

Year-to-date stock loan activity is down 11 percent from 2013 with 785,940 new loan transactions in 2014. The average daily loan value for August was $152,198,732,151.

OCC has found an overall 4 percent increase in average daily cleared contract volume for August 2014 compared to August 2013, with a total of 15,502,290 contracts.

Exchanged-listed options trading volume was 0.57 percent lower than August 2013. The year-to-date total options trading volume reported a minor 0.01 percent decline from the previous year.

OCC cleared 5,392,692 futures contract that represents a 14 percent increase, with year-to-date cleared futures volume up 14 percent.
