The Australian Â鶹´«Ã½ and Investments Commission (ASIC) has appointed Scott Gregson as CEO, effective from 17 March 2025.

In his new role, Gregson succeeds interim CEO Greg Yanco who is retiring.

He joins from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), where he has spent nearly three decades.

For the past three years, he acted as CEO, leading the agency’s digital and data transformation programme.

Gregson has spent much of his time at the ACCC in investigation and enforcement roles, developing experience and appreciation for the regulatory role.

He also led teams that litigated high-profile matters, including against Volkswagen, Coles, and Apple.

He commenced work at the agency as a graduate in 1996.

Upon joining ASIC, Gregson says: “In an increasingly complex world with heightened cost of living pressures, the work of ASIC is more important than ever, and I look forward to taking the step up and helping ASIC meet the challenges ahead.â€

ASIC Chair Joe Longo comments: “Scott is an impressive leader and will bring extensive experience to this important role at ASIC.

“His commitment to achieving regulatory outcomes that benefit all Australians makes him a strong addition to support ASIC’s commission and head the agency’s executive leadership team.â€

He continues: “On behalf of all of ASIC, I thank Greg for his exemplary service, dedication and work ethic, and we wish him all the best for the future.â€
