BNY Mellon ARX Investimentos, the Brazilian investment specialist for BNY Mellon Asset Management, has been named active equity manager of the year by Exame, one of the most widely read Brazilian business magazines.
Exame publishes one of the most extensive surveys of investment funds in Brazil, which is prepared by
the Center for Studies in Finance at Fundacao Getulio Vargas (FGV). It is a guide to personal investment that encompasses a ranking of 1,000 investment funds. The funds can be sorted by type (equities, fixed income and multi-market, for example), by minimum initial investment and by asset manager.
In choosing the winning active equity manager, Exame quantitatively evaluated the performance of 208
active equity funds domiciled in Brazil that meet the magazine's requirements for market capitalization and other criteria.
"We are pleased that a respected institution such as Exame has recognized the performance of our active equity funds," said Jose Tovar, managing director of BNY Mellon ARX. "The depth and expertise of our investment team has generated impressive results over an extended period of time, winning the
publication's award in 2005 and 2006. We have continued in our success since becoming part of BNY
Mellon in 2008 and once again achieved this honor for our performance in 2010."
