MarketAxess names new president and COO

MarketAxess has named Chris Concannon, veteran exchange industry executive, as its president and COO, effective 22 January.
In this role, Concannon will oversee day-to-day operations, corporate development, long-term technology strategy and global data strategy.
He will report to Rick McVey, CEO of MarketAxess, and he will also join the board of directors, with a particular focus on the company鈥檚 corporate strategy.
Concannon joins MarketAxess from Cboe Global Markets Inc (Cboe), where he served as president and COO. He came to Cboe in 2017 as part of its acquisition of Bats Global Markets, where he was CEO.
At Cboe, Concannon was responsible for their transaction business, including global derivatives, US and European equities, and global foreign exchange.
Meanwhile, as CEO of Bats, Concannon led the company鈥檚 initial public offering in 2016, as well as its acquisition by Cboe in February 2017.
