Crédit Agricole CIB appoints Jones
07 March 2025 Hong Kong

Crédit Agricole CIB has onboarded Stuart Jones as head of Global Repo and Indexing (GRI) equity Asia.
Based in Hong Kong, Jones will be responsible for driving the set-up and growth strategy of equity finance and indexing businesses across the APAC and MEA regions.
He will report locally to Samy Beji, deputy head of GRI, and functionally to Sylvain Thabuis, global head of GRI equity.
Jones brings more than 20 years of financial industry experience to his new role. He is known for his role as chairman of the Pan Asia Â鶹´«Ã½ Lending Association (PASLA), which he held for five years, and director for 10 years.
He departed his role at PASLA after moving to Jefferies, a global, full-service investment banking and capital markets firm, where he took on the position of managing director and head of Asia Pacific financing.
Previously, he spent almost 18 years at Morgan Stanley, a decade of which was spent in Asia, across Japan and Hong Kong.
Initially based in Hong Kong, Jones moved to run the firm’s Japan financing businesses before going back to Hong Kong to run its broader Asia Pacific securities lending businesses.
Commenting on the appointment, Beji says: “With Stuart’s extensive experience in equities across markets and products in Asia Pacific, we believe he will be a great leader for our Asia repo and indexing team as we continue to grow our equity finance business.â€
